I settle back against the seat and gaze out the window of Liam's car, watching as Brandon stalks off. Guilt is a funny thing. It hurts to be screwed over, but most would take that pain twenty times over rather than feel the pain of hurting someone else. I'd say I'm one of them.

"I just know what it's like to be hurt," I murmur, more to myself than to anyone else. Then, snapping out of it, I turn to face Liam. "So, where are you taking me? I assume it's no place to wear a sweaty track suit?"

He looks at her, "He will get over it...and I am aware of your attire. I am driving us back to the dorms and I can meet you in an hour?"

He drives off and they get back, he parts from her and goes to get ready himself.

An hour passes and she opens her door, she looks stunning.

Liam was in a suit, white shirt with no tie. "You look...amazing." He said, just eying and liking what he saw, it made her blush he could tell. "Come on..."He leads her back to downstairs, a limo has pulled up and they get into the car.

"No I am not telling you...where we are going, don't even try to get it out of me." He says, smirking slightly as he looked at her. His hair was different, darker and cut into a style but laid back.

I fiddle with the ends of my dress -my only dress, actually, one I'd had to shop for once I'd been made aware of the date- and grin at Liam. He looks even better than usual. A nice change from the bedhead I'd been so used to seeing every day. He looks... almost his age.

"I'd be ignoring the elephant in the room if I said you don't look amazing yourself," I admit, catching his answering smirk from the corner of my eye. "And I'm fairly certain I could force it out of you, but I'm sure you like your head where it's at, so I'll let you surprise me."

A surprise from the president's rich son, I remind myself. This ought to be interesting.

He looks at her, "You want sparkle..and I want to do this for you, just sit back and let me take control, I know you like to always have it..."

They pull up to an airport, right on to the tarmac and they got out. Liam opens her side, she is led out. She eyes the air force one plane and looks to Liam, with a are-you-serious face expression.

He smirks again, "Don't say a thing about it...let's go." They board the plane, a man coming over to Liam and shaking his hand, telling him they would be taking off shortly.

They take their seats and he looks at her.

I laugh. Rich people. "Our first date and you take me on Charlie Tango?"

Confusion flashes across his face, and in a moment of embarrassment, I flit my eyes away and gnaw on the edge of my lip. The pilot's left some reading material for us, it seems, but the first paper on the stack is what grabs my attention.

The New York Times' header, in bold, large print, causes me to frown. Hostage Crises In Middle East Continue, it reads. Protests Over Sommers' Inaction Grow.

I think back to the waging war going on. The bombings carried out by the American people after the surprise terrorist attack in New Jersey that left many of our people dead. That one act that had us storming our troops back out of the country in search of control. But our problem remained the same: You can bomb a village of villains, but you can't hope not to kill an innocent or two. Our little attack left women and children dead. Worse yet, we still have our hostages. We want the terrorists to come forward, and so far, no dice. Hence the ongoing hostage shit that bombards us each time we turn on the news. But of the bad people we killed, we easily massacred a fair number of innocents. Those grieving are pushing harder than hell for us to leave them alone. President Sommers refuses to budge until we've got the bad guys conquered.

Why in God's name would the pilot think to leave this out in open view of the president's son? Fail. In a move that I hope isn't so obvious to Liam, I knock away the top page as if it's the least interesting thing on the planet and reach for the People magazine beneath it. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are talking about their love life and what seems like twenty kids, and I sigh.

I turn back to Liam, who must have said something judging by the lost expression on his face, and I clear my throat. "Sorry," I blush, drawing my attention back to those blue eyes. "What was that?"

He looks at her, of course he knew about everything going on with his father. He got updates every day on it.

Taking by surprise, how she wasn't paying attention and looks at her seriously, "You want to be here don't you..?"

I'm stunned into a brief silence at Liam's words. For someone so usually cocky, he certainly has his raw moments, this being one of them. My mouth falls open. "What? Yes. I do."

What shocks me most, perhaps, is that I mean it. Maybe he'd gone a little too far with the plane and the mystery date, but it's undoubtedly Liam. Maybe I'd been too harsh on him. Me being Queen Bitch again, one who'd rather wound with a snappy comeback than to put much thought into my words. Even Liam doesn't deserve that.

I reach between our seats and rest my hand on his arm. "Hey. I mean it," I whisper. "I'll admit this isn't what I'm used to. I haven't been on a date in so long, I'm rusty at it, but I do appreciate all this." I smirk. "Flashy, yes, but sweet."

He looks at her and smirks slightly, "Of course...I knew you were serious about being here, how could you not be?" His cocky side back full swing. "Also, this is not flashy..it's showing you that you made the right decision..."

They land on top of a building, they get off and Amara can see they are in New York city. They are on top of Donald Trump's hotel. It is an amazing hotel, one of the tallest buildings in the city with an amazing view.

Amara looks around and Liam leads her to a table, it is set for just the both of them and he holds out her chair, "Why bother going to a crowded restaurant? I want to learn everything I can about you..."

She sits and he sits across from her, waiter coming over with wine. Their are menu's already placed on top of their plates.

A menu. Of course Liam has his own menu. I look around, finding only one other person besides us, a waiter with wine ready in hand. In typical grandeur fashion, he offers a slight nod to Liam, screws off the top to the wine, and offers it to Liam to taste.

I watch all of this, amazed, and watch as the flame of the candle between us dances in the night, setting Liam's face aglow, accentuating that smile, that deep, blue spark in his eyes, as he tests the wine. Satisfied, he nods to the waiter, who in turn pours out our glasses. Fancy.

I pore over the menu, and for some unknown reason, I can't help but laugh. Liam lifts his gaze to me, and my cheeks flush. "Sorry," I giggle. "Really, it's not you. It's all this. You really..." I look around, taking in the view of the night's city life, and cross my legs beneath the table as I meet him with a smile. "You really put a lot of thought into this. Color me impressed."

He looks at her, "I am merely doing what I thought you would want? I have never done something like this before but you called me out on a lot of my s*hit. I wanted to show you...I am not that bad of a guy, once you get to know me."

A bread basket is set down, looking at her "And, I promise, you don't have to tell me if you're democrat or republican." He smirks slightly, drinks some of his wine.
