The moderating team has been recieving a lot of flack lately from a few groups and individuals who are insulting them and generally making their lives difficult. It is not acceptable.

These people give up their precious free time (A LOT of it) to moderate the forums. They don't get anything out of it except for my eternal gratitude, and I cannot express how much this team means to me. It is not fair to respond to their generosity by being rude to them, upsetting them, and making their lives difficult. I am honestly amazed they don't all just give up and resign, given some of the things that some members say and do to them and the baseless things they accuse them of.

It should be noted that moderators do not act independently on any serious matters. Problems are discussed as a team, and decisions are arrived at as a team. There are a mix of moderators with different favourite characters and pairings, so accusing a particular mod of bias is uncalled for - the decision was reached as a team, and that mod happens to be the one who implements the decision.

Moderators aren't out to take over the world or rule with an iron fist. They don't find it fun having to tell people off, they do it to keep the forums running as best they can. The rules aren't here because we think they're fun. They're here because some members choose to cause problems because they think it's funny, or that basic common courtesy towards other members isn't something they have to bother with. The rules are in place to ensure that the majority of members can get on with browsing and posting the forums in peace.

A minority of people have problems with these rules and will complain, disobey them and be rude about them because they don't like them. I ask you this - WHY? If you hate it here that much, why do you stay? No one is forcing you to, there are other forums on the internet. Why not help to make the forums a nicer place instead?

Seriously, it's up to members to make this a good place to be. Please, just follow the rules and work with the moderating team. If that's too much to ask, then find somewhere else.
