There are three chat channels for you to choose from:
Main Chat: For general Vampire Diaries and every day discussion. This is the channel that everyone logs into by default, so please try to keep spoilers off it.
Spoiler Chat: For chat about future episodes of the Vampire Diaries. You can get as spoilery as you like in here.
Live Episode Chat: For chatting about the most recent episode as it airs on Thursday night and afterwards.

When you're in the chat, look to the bottom right of the screen. There are some settings options there that you may find handy, such as being able to mute the sound alerts, or pause the autoscroll feature to allow you to scroll back up and read anything you may have missed.
